Premier League transfer news LIVE: Wood to Newcastle imminent, Chelsea said ‘be smart’ with Rudiger decision, Manchester United told Lamptey, Arsenal want Arthur on loan

The January transfer window is in full swing and no one is busier than Newcastle.

Having already landed Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid for £ 12million, the newly wealthy Magpies are expected to snatch up Chris Wood from Burnley.

The 30-year-old forward will undergo a medical exam on Wednesday and could make his debut in the six-point relegation fixture against Watford on Saturday.

Newcastle have also filed a £ 28million offer for Sevilla defender Diego Carlos.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa has also been busy, securing the window deal so far by offloading Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona.

The club are also hunting Lucas Digne from Everton, while Villa winger Anwar El-Ghazi looks set to go the other way and join the Toffees.

Manchester United could dive into the transfer market this month and have been linked with Tariq Lamptey.
