Premier League table 2022-23: latest standings, fixtures and results as Arsenal top

he new Premier League season is on, with Arsenal setting the tone after a hard-fought 2-0 victory against London rivals Crystal Palace on the opening night.

Gabriel Martinelli scored the opening goal of a competitive and entertaining opener at Selhurst Park, eyeing a first-half header after a shrewd routine that saw new signing Oleksandr Zinchenko head a corner down the aim. Bukayo Saka wrapped up the three late as Marc Guehi turned his cross into his own net.

Last season’s runners-up Liverpool will be keen to get off to a strong start on Saturday lunchtime when they travel to newly-promoted Fulham for their season opener, with champions Manchester City wrapping up the weekend at West Ham on the following day.

Much is expected of Tottenham, who spent well and impressed in Antonio Conte’s first pre-season with the team, and they start at home against Southampton on Saturday. A few hours later, Chelsea, under new ownership and with Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly in their ranks, face Everton, managed by club legend Frank Lampard.

It’s another new era at Manchester United and fans are hoping manager Erik ten Hag can oversee rapid improvement after an utterly miserable run last term. They host Brighton on Sunday ahead of the final match at the London Stadium.

This is what the first table looks like…
