Premier League betting tips, odds & preview: Top four chase continues as Cristiano Ronaldo punishes Norwich, Harry Kane shines for Spurs & Arsenal comeback vs Southampton

The Premier League restarts this weekend with so much at stake in 90 minutes for all teams, with the title, the pursuit of the top four and the relegation battle to the wire.

This weekend’s fixtures see Tottenham host Brighton, Arsenal travel to Spurs, Norwich host Manchester United and Newcastle take on Leicester.

Here’s our betting preview and top tips from this week’s matches…

Tottenham vs Brighton: Betting Tip

Since Dejan Kulusevski’s first league start for Spurs, no player has more assists than the Swede and the only player to match that tally is Harry Kane.

Rodrigo Bentancur and Kulusevski assisted Kane and Cristian Romero when Spurs last faced Brighton last month.

Kane has had seven Premier League assists this calendar year, the most of any player and two more than he has recorded in 36 games in 2021.

Tottenham are looking to win five consecutive league games for the first time since December 2018 in a bid to finish in the top four.

The Seagulls have a poor record against their opponents this weekend and have lost all four of their away games to Spurs.

All signs point to a solid showing from Spurs given their recent record in front of goal, but Brighton are notorious for making games tough and drawing has been their specialty lately.

talkSPORT EDGE Tip: Kane and Kulusevski will score at 5/1 (Bet365).

Southampton vs Arsenal: Betting Tip

Alexandre Lacazette has been involved in seven goals in his last six Premier League games against Southampton and will be hoping to regain his goalscoring form with pressure down the side to finish in the top four.

The Gunners lost 2-1 at home to Brighton last week but haven’t lost a League game on a consecutive Saturday since November 2008, which could bode well this weekend if they don’t turn the tide.

Southampton have conceded 10 goals in their last three Premier League home games (losing all three) and with Arsenal in contention for a top four finish, they look the likeliest winner.

Saints also have a poor record when scoring first against visitors, seven times in the league they have taken the lead but only won once.

Man United vs Norwich City: Betting Tip

It’s another huge game for the race to the top four, but also incredibly important in the relegation battle at the bottom of the table.

Norwich halted Burnley’s big breakout attempts last week with a 2-0 victory over the Clarets, but they are still seven points behind Everton and a safety.

Manchester United have won 12 of their last 15 league games against Norwich, winning each of their last four games in a row.

Norwich manager Dean Smith won 1-0 at Old Trafford earlier this season with Aston Villa and is strongly encouraged to lose once again as the Canaries sit firmly in the relegation zone.

Norwich are six points behind at safety and face a huge climb while Man United still dream of reaching the top four, provided Arsenal and Spurs drop enough points in the run-in.

Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored 12 goals this season after a sparse few weeks, he netted a hat-trick against Tottenham in a five-goal thriller.

He will surely reappear on the scoresheet this weekend with goals vital to keep the Red Devils in contention for a Champions League place.

talkSPORT EDGE tip: Ronaldo will score first AND last at 6/1 (Paddy Power).

Newcastle United vs Leicester City: Betting Tip

These two teams are not fighting for relegation or the top four, but will be looking to finish the season as high as possible.

For the Magpies, this situation was a pipe dream just a few months ago when they sat at the bottom of the table with no wins under their belt.

But a lot has changed and their 2021/22 campaign could end with a flurry of points.

Eddie Howe’s side have three games where they can score points before facing successively Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal, before facing Burnley in the last match.

Leicester have also had a recent increase in points, unbeaten in their last five games they have picked up 10 points from a possible 15 to take them to ninth in the table and three games in hand against Wolves in eighth.

James Maddison has been a big part of their resurgence and also has an excellent record against Newcastle – being involved in five goals in just six appearances.

But the two teams have a different outlook since the last time they met and the Magpies are turning St James’ Park into a fortress.
