“Our 3-year-old dog Kikka was pregnant at the same time as me! She gave birth a week ago to eight beautiful puppies, three girls and five boys,” said Elina Purhonen. News week.
“I’m currently 6 months pregnant with my second daughter. I live with my fiancé, Pauli, and we have a 2-year-old daughter named Alexandra. Kikka is a cockapoo, so she’s half cocker spaniel and half poodle,” a added Purhonen.
Perhaps what caused the family and the internet the most joy was the fact that both pregnant women sought out their ultrasounds and x-rays on the same day. The TikTok creator preserved this moving day in a video on social networks, which has gone viral since it was shared on the platform on September 18. Purhonen’s scan revealed that she is expecting a baby girl for the second time.
“Kikka and I even had doctor’s appointments on the same day! I had an ultrasound to see my baby, and then Kikka had an X-ray, where we saw all eight of her babies,” Purhonen said.
The designer added that she felt surprisingly comforted and supported during her pregnancy along with her beloved pet.
“Kikka was by my side throughout her pregnancy. She never left my side. I think she understood that we are both in the same situation,” Purhonen said. “It was truly an amazing time sharing the pregnancy together, and I can’t wait for the puppies to meet my baby when he’s born.
“Kikka is best friends with our daughter, Alexandra, and I think her puppies will be best friends with the new baby as well,” Purhonen added.
