Grupo Posadas, known for its resort brands such as Live Aqua, Grand Fiesta Americana and Fiesta Americana, has received 150 hotels with Green Key and Blue Flag distinctions through the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).
Posadas has more than 180 hotels in Mexico and the Caribbean. Green Key and Blue Flag designations have been awarded to hotels under several brands, including Live Aqua, Grand Fiesta Americana, Curamoria Collection, Fiesta Americana, The Explorean, IOH, Fiesta Inn and Gamma.
This recognition follows the group’s sustainability initiatives, which include advances in energy efficiency and resource management such as the installation of water-efficient showers and toilets, solar water heaters, heat recovery systems and much more.
The Foundation for Environmental Education is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that focuses on five pillars, two of which are Blue Flag and Green Key. Blue Flag designations are awarded to beaches, marinas and sustainable water tourism operators. Green Key designations are awarded to lodging and hospitality establishments that are committed to sustainable business practices.
