Authorities say a suspect fatally injured a school resource officer and an administrator Friday at a high school in suburban Kansas City
OLATHE, Kansas — A suspect fatally injured a school resource officer and an administrator Friday at a high school in suburban Kansas City, authorities said.
Olathe Police said in a tweet that the shooting took place in the “office”. A suspect has been taken into custody, police said, and there are no indications that any students were injured. Police did not immediately release information about the suspect’s identity or motive.
The district said in a tweet that Olathe East High School is currently on lockdown due to the situation.
“Please know that law enforcement is on site and the building is secure,” the tweet read. The district added that it was working on a plan to reunite students with their families.
Neither police nor the district immediately returned a phone message from The Associated Press seeking comment.
