Police issue alert over recent robberies at cannabis dispensaries in Wicker Park, Bucktown – CBS Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) – Police are warning businesses of thefts from cannabis dispensaries in the Wicker Park and Bucktown neighborhoods.

A group of three to four offenders entered the dispensaries and inquired about the products and left, only to return with garbage bags full of products and walk away with stolen products totaling thousands of dollars.

Police only had vague descriptions of the offenders and the vehicle used to flee the scene

Police are reminding businesses to:

• Be aware of this crime and alert nearby businesses.
• If possible, allow only one person at a time to enter the business and use a lockable door mechanism.
• Make sure existing surveillance cameras are functional and recording.
• Dial 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender
