Police identify man killed in wreckage in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) identified the man who was killed Friday in a fatal crash on U.S. Highway 72.

ALEA said Kenwin C. Printup, 50, of Dalton, GA died Friday after the 2021 Peterbilt tractor-trailer he was driving struck logs being carried by a 2000 Freightliner tractor-trailer.

The agency said Printup was pronounced dead at the scene and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The sinking occurred around 1:50 p.m. Friday afternoon on US 72 near mile 105.

ALEA said Friday that the accident initially blocked traffic on Highway 72, but the lanes were reopened at 6:15 p.m. Friday night.

ALEA said nothing else is available at this time as soldiers from the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
