Police don’t know if the gunman was a FedEx employee

The scene outside a FedEx facility after a shooting in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 16.

Law enforcement was informed of a “massive loss situation” at a FedEx facility located at 8951 Mirabel Road in Indianapolis Thursday evening.

At the time, two employees inside the building told CNN affiliate WISH-TV that they heard up to ten gunshots.

At first Jeremiah Miller and Timothy Boillat thought the sound was coming from a car, but after hearing more Miller stood up and saw a man with a gun, he told the station.

“After hearing the shootings, I saw a body on the ground behind a vehicle,” Boillat said.

The two men left the building and saw around 30 police cars arriving to respond, Boillat said.

Closed motorway: The nearby major freeway, I-70, has been closed in both directions between I-465 and Ronald Reagan Parkway due to police activity, according to Indiana State Police Sgt. . John Perrine. “Please look for other routes,” he tweeted.

The highway has been reopened, although there is no access to Ameriplex Parkway in either direction, he later tweeted.
