Police detonate Philadelphia DA after killing pregnant woman

Philadelphia District Attorney Krasner was slammed by the city’s deputy police commissioner after a 32-year-old pregnant woman was shot 11 times on Saturday night.

The Daily mail reports that late mother Jessica Covington was shot and killed while unloading gifts she received at a baby shower.

Covington and her unborn child were killed in the attack.

Deputy Police Commissioner Christine Coulter blasted DA Krasner over the incident, asking her to do something about the gun violence ravaging the city.

Coulter said: “Children get shot, unborn children get shot, what’s the city doing about it? “

Earlier this year, on March 30, 2021, the Philadelphia Investigator noted that gun arrests were on the rise in Philadelphia, but gun convictions under Krasner were down.

The Applicant noted that the police “were making arrests for carrying illegal weapons at a rate almost three times that of 2017”, but the chances of those arrested being convicted are less than 50%.

The Mail observed that Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said “the city’s criminal justice system has become a ‘revolving door’ for repeat gun offenders since Krasner was sworn in in January 2018.”
