Poland predicts long and protracted border crisis

Polish government official Stanisław Żaryn predicted that the migrant crisis on the border with Belarus could last a long time, adding that the conflict could be a “cynical ploy” orchestrated by Belarusian services facilitating incursion attempts “to exhaust our resources. soldiers and our officers ”. .

Mr Żaryn, the spokesperson for the minister-coordinator of special services, who is part of the national security department of the prime minister’s chancellery, spoke about the current crisis in which thousands of migrants have camped along border and attempted to cross illegally from Belarus in recent weeks.

“The conflict on the Polish-Belarusian border is starting to drag on for a long time. It can also mean a cynical ploy to exhaust our soldiers and officers, ”Żaryn told the Polish News Agency (PAP), according to comments reported by the Polish English television channel TVP World.

“We are entering the conflict phase where every day begins to look the same. We are still facing repeated attacks from groups of foreigners supported by Belarusian services. We can see that this conflict is starting to be a conflict that is estimated to last for a long time, ”he added.

Żaryn also noted that the migrants currently trying to storm the Polish border were not Afghan nationals, but predicted that such a massive flow of illegals leaving the Taliban-controlled country could begin in the spring of next year, and that Poland and other European countries should brace yourself for this potential wave of people.

Some have claimed that up to three million Afghan nationals could attempt to enter Europe illegally in the coming months after Afghanistan fell to the Taliban in August.

“We are facing a demanding time for our soldiers and officers who have the right to be weary and tired of this conflict,” Żaryn told the broadcaster and said Poland was concerned about an increase in aggressive propaganda from the Belarus and Russia.

The statements come just days after Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called Belarus’ use of migrants a “hybrid war” and said the Belarusian regime’s actions were “the biggest attempt to destabilize Europe. “since the Cold War.

“Europe, our common home, is under threat. At this very moment, a hybrid war is unfolding on the Polish-Belarusian border which Alexander Lukashenko, with the backstage support of Vladimir Putin, has declared against the whole of the European Union ”, declared the Polish leader.
