Poet Cornelius Eady explores daily life for black people in America

Now Eady has another project, to help preserve poetry’s place in the wider culture. He is director of Poets House in Lower Manhattan, founded in 1985 as a library and cultural space, one of the largest in the country dedicated to poetry, where poets, poetry lovers and all curious people could explore something 70,000 volumes, attend readings and meet.
Last August, however, amid an already difficult COVID period, a burst pipe in the building led to massive flooding and destruction, forcing Poets House to close.
