Placer County Sheriff’s Office to provide update on missing Truckee teenager last seen at campground party

TRUCKEE, Calif. (KGO) — The Placer County Sheriff’s Office will provide an update at 2 p.m. Wednesday on the disappearance of Kiely Rodni, the 16-year-old girl who went missing in the Lake Tahoe area.

On Tuesday evening, authorities released surveillance footage of the teenager the night she disappeared.

She was last seen early Saturday at a party at a campsite in Truckee.

Investigators said today they are slowly piecing together what happened.

“We watch, you know, videos that people send in, whatever,” said Scott Alford of the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. “We’re reviewing timestamps so we can create the best timeline possible. Take all of this information and we’ll commit all the resources we can to follow up.”

Kiely’s cellphone has been out of service since Saturday and his silver Honda is also missing.

So far, investigators say no one has come forward to have seen her leave the party or get into her car.
