Pixar and Amy Poehler Announce Sequel to Disney’s D23

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Pixar is planning a sequel to “Inside Out,” the animation studio announced Friday at Disney’s fan expo D23.

Amy Poehler, who voiced Joy in the original 2015 film, revealed the news onstage with Pete Docter, who directed the first film and is now the head of Pixar.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we’re doing ‘Inside Out 2’,” Poehler announced happily.

The film is in early production, Docter said, and will hit theaters in the summer of 2024 and will be directed by Kelsey Mann.

Poehler confirmed that the new movie will continue with the main character Riley, the girl who has the emotions on her mind.

“Only this time she’s a teenager,” Poehler said, adding that there will be emotional new characters.
