P&G eliminates consumer blues everywhere except China

Procter & Gamble We’re seeing consumer recovery everywhere, but in just one market, which just happens to be the world’s second-largest economy. This is encouraging news for the company itself, but a more generally troubling message about the state of China.

The maker of Tide detergent and Gillette razors said Wednesday that its organic sales, which exclude the effects of currency movements and mergers, rose 7% from a year earlier in the three months through September. . As has been the case in previous quarters, this is entirely due to higher prices, with underlying volumes falling 1%.
