Person of Interest Wanted in Connection to Toney’s Fatal Shooting


TONEY, Ala. (WHNT) – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting in Toney on Saturday night.

The sheriff’s office said when they arrived at the house in the 100 block of Spirit Drive, they found three victims. One person was killed; two others were injured. The shooter fled the scene, but investigators said witnesses knew who they were.

On Sunday, the sheriff’s office said it was looking for Robert Deangelo Shepherd, Jr., a person of interest in the case.

Crime scene units and the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) were also called to the scene.

HEMSI spokesman Don Webster said the two victims rushed to trauma services at Huntsville Hospital were in stable condition but were being reassessed.
