Pepperfry’s Ambareesh Murty says demand for Tier 2 cities continues to grow


Speaking at the PwC CEO Dialogues hosted by CNBC-TV18, Murty said seven years ago furniture was a classic example of local business and Pepperfry created massive disruption in the industry.

Ambareesh Murty, CEO and Co-Founder of Pepperfry, said Wednesday, May 24 that demand for furniture from Tier 2 cities continues to rise, but metros and Tier 3 cities are lagging behind.

Speaking at the PwC CEO Dialogues hosted by CNBC-TV18, he said omnichannel is the default state for businesses today, as customers can be in a mall, phone or a laptop at some point.


Murty said furniture was a classic example of local business seven years ago and Pepperfry created massive disruption in the sector by allowing local businesses to grow.
