Pedro Porro talks about Tottenham for the first time as flight and medical booking
New signing Pedro Porro spoke publicly for the first time about his move to Tottenham before boarding a plane to London.
standard sports understands the right-back will complete a £39m move from Sporting later on Tuesday, the final day of the January transfer window.
The move was questioned on Monday after Sporting reneged on the deal asking for more money, despite Porro saying goodbye and a medical in London being booked.
Fresh talks have reignited the transfer and Porro, who was absent from training and understood to be upset by the delays, will now finalize the move on deadline day. He spoke to reporters at Lisbon airport on Monday evening.
He told CMTV: “I am grateful to Sporting, I love the club.
“I didn’t train as I was just focused on moving to Spurs, but I will always be grateful to the club.”
Porro is due at Hotspur Way on Monday night, where he will spend the night before becoming a Spurs player on Tuesday.
