Fallon Sherrock got back to winning ways with an emphatic 5-1 win over Lisa Ashton in the PDC Women’s Series event seven final in Wigan.

Sherrock, who won event three at the women’s series opening weekend at Barnsley last month, was out in the semi-finals and 64th final in Saturday’s two events, but the ‘palace queen’ was back to her best as she shut out Lorraine Hyde, Kim Holden and Tracy North 4-0 in the first three rounds.

Kirsty Hutchinson and Rhian Griffiths were then beaten 4-2 before Sherrock beat Jane Densley 5-3 in the semi-final.

Ashton lost just two legs as she progressed to the quarter-finals where she beat Laura Turner 4-1 and she followed that up with another impressive victory over Mikuru Suzuki, who was dispatched 5-1 in the four last.

However, Ashton failed to earn her fifth women’s series success as Sherrock proved too strong in the final.

Sheldon completed his dream run to the final by edging Sherrock 5-4 in the last four after a previous 4-1 win over Turner.

Ashton won their first three games unanswered again before claiming 4-1 triumphs over Priscilla Steenbergen and Rhian O’Sullivan, although Lorraine Winstanley led the battle for ‘The Lancashire Rose’ to a 5-4 semi success -final before concluding his fifth win of eight events.
