IPL 2023: Preity Zinta at Siddhivinayal: Punjab Kings co-owner and Bollywood actress Preity Zinta visited Siddhivinayak Temple and asked for Bappa’s blessing ahead of the IPL 2023 mini-auction. The 47-year-old looked graceful while wearing traditional clothes and appeared to be enjoying of his visit to the holy place. IPL Auction 2023: Preity Zinta and Punjab Kings gear up for mini-auction – Preity and his IPL franchise Punjab Kings are gearing up for the IPL 2023 mini-auction which will take place in Kochi on December 23. Ahead of the 2023 IPL season, the Kings began the process of introducing their new team.
They still have to fill 9 places in their squad, 3 of which are reserved for foreign players. Unlike the total of 16 players retained by the team, 9 players were released. All nine IPL franchises now have the option to sign these nine players. The IPL auction has 991 players registered this year, and PBKS hopes to buy 9 of them who are on the long list.
Cr 62.80 Rupees had already been spent by the DC to retain the 16 players. With the remaining balance of 32.20 Cr, he needs to cover the 9 player vacancies in his squads. Each team must remain under the salary cap of INR 95 crore in the IPL 2023 auction. This amount represents an increase of 5 Cr from the previous season.
Mayank Agarwal will be replaced as Punjab Kings captain by Shikhar Dhawan. Former South African fast Charl Langeveldt was named the team’s new bowling coach, and former Australian batsman-wicketkeeper Brad Haddin was named the franchise’s new assistant coach. Additionally, they retained Wasim Jaffer as their batting coach.
