Paris Saint-Germain want to sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
Pogba has entered the final year of his contract with United and talks are underway with his representatives on a new deal.
There has been no contact between Manchester United and PSG, and no official offer, but Pogba wants to weigh all of his options before deciding on what will likely be the last big contract of his career.
Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola suggested in December that the midfielder was “unhappy” at United and “needed a change of scenery”, urging him to leave the club in the summer transfer window in Classes.
Last month, while with France at Euro 2020, Pogba said there had been “no concrete proposals” from United.
The World Cup winner has had a mixed time since joining United from Juventus for a then world record amount in 2016.
While he has at times shown his immense talent, Pogba found himself excluded from the squad in 2018-19 under Jose Mourinho and had a modest spell in the past two seasons as he has often been linked with a distance from the club. .
The 28-year-old can sign a pre-contract deal with a foreign club in January if he chooses not to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
PSG have been busy during this transfer window, signing Italian Euro 2020 hero Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos and Achraf Hakimi.
The Parisian club lost their grip on the Ligue 1 title last season, finishing second behind Lille, as they were beaten by Manchester City in the Champions League semi-final.
Solskjaer insists Pogba ‘cares’ about Man Utd
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Pogba “cares” about United, with talks on a new contract underway.
“I think everyone in the squad and Paul included are just focused on doing the best we can this season,” Solskjaer said in March. “I don’t think any energy would be used for speculation.
“Of course we have discussions and discussions. When you see Paul playing like he did against Milan, when you see him come back to training, it shows how much he cares about us and how much he loves to play and how much we can benefit from having him here. “
Raiola: Pogba wants to win trophies at United or elsewhere
Mino Raiola wants to see Pogba win other major honors in his career.
The France international only won the Europa League and the Coupe de la Ligue during his second stint at United.
“With Pogba, what’s really important too is what Manchester United want, what plan they come up with for Pogba,” Raiola told Spanish sports newspaper AS in May.
“Pogba has always been interested in one thing, winning the Champions League, winning titles, that’s his goal. And we’ll see if that is possible at United or other big European clubs.
“At one point Pogba felt a lot of love and trust in United, and there are various other clubs.”
