Since retiring from a distinguished playing career in 2011, Vieira has moved onto the managerial scene and was recently appointed boss of Crystal Palace.

The Frenchman is one of the greatest players in Arsenal history, his time in England was not child’s play as Parlor told talkSPORT he was “a bit miserable” when he first arrived in North London.

While Vieira was widely respected in the dressing room, that hasn’t stopped his teammates teasing him whenever rumors started to circulate about his departure from north London.

“Every summer during the preseason you would see him linked to every club, Juventus and some clubs,” Parlor added.

“When we came to practice he would come in and we would all look at him and say, ‘Are you still here, Patrick? “We can’t wait for you to go.”

“He was laughing and he had a really good sense of humor.”
