Pascal Struijk’s red card for Harvey Elliott’s tackle confirmed after Leeds United call |  Football news


Leeds failed to appeal against the red card given to Pascal Struijk for a tackle which left Harvey Elliott of Liverpool in need of surgery on a dislocated ankle.

Struijk was sacked for the challenge against the 18-year-old Liverpool player which resulted in him being taken on a stretcher.

Elliott is set to return to action this season, according to the Liverpool club doctor, after the midfielder underwent successful ankle surgery on Tuesday.
