A rather unusual scene unfolded in Chicago’s Lake View neighborhood on Saturday as a party bus traveling down Broadway rammed more than a dozen vehicles, witnesses said.
Cellphone video obtained by NBC 5, taken just before 3 p.m., shows a white party bus trying to navigate traffic, heading north on Broadway near the Addison Street intersection. Witnesses said the bus rammed at least 15 nearby vehicles.
The vehicles suffered damage ranging from flat tires to shattered rear windows and broken mirrors. A witness told NBC 5 that the situation was out of control, and at one point the bus even blocked her.
“He was actually pretty calm, you know, because it wasn’t like he was in a rush, he was kind of maneuvering through traffic and kind of hitting every car in sight,” witness Chandra said. Williams, referring to the driver. . “And this car just landed in front of us, so we couldn’t go anywhere else.”
The bus was found in Belmont Harbor, according to Chicago Fire Department, but the driver has not yet been located.
