Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) chief executive Naseeb Khan said the best available players had been chosen. Former captain Mohammad Nabi, who resigned after the Twenty20 World Cup in November, is also part of the squad. Astute spinner Rashid Khan will lead the Afghanistan team in the T20I series against Pakistan.
Meanwhile, in the absence of all-format captain Babar Azam, the Pakistani side will be led by Shadow Khan. He has been Pakistan’s vice-captain in white-ball cricket for the past two years.
