Pimblett looks set to become a superstar after picking up first-round stoppage victories in his first two UFC fights.

The 27-year-old made his promotional debut last year against Luigi Vendramini and had to survive early adversity before claiming a knockout victory.

Earlier this year, Pimblett was cracked early again, this time against Kazula Vargas, whom he quickly rallied to submit in just over three minutes.

Due to an accidental leak from UFC President Dana White, Pimblett was originally linked to a fight with undefeated knockout artist Ottman Aziatar, but for some reason that fight didn’t happen. .

The Liverpudlian will instead face 26-year-old Dana White Contender Series alum Leavitt, who is 10-1 and has won three of his first four UFC fights.

“Monkey King” caused a stir in his UFC debut in December 2020, earning a Performance of the Night bonus for knocking out MMA veteran Matt Wiman by slamming him hard to the mat.

Leavitt suffered his first and only pro MMA loss in his second UFC fight against Claudio Pulles, but since then he’s bounced back in impressive fashion.

An inverted triangle submission to Matt Sayles put him back in the win column before Leavitt earned a split decision victory over Trey Ogden in his last fight in April.

Later this summer, Leavitt will fight for the first time outside of his home country when he travels to the UK to face Pimblett in front of a raucous crowd in London.
