Paddy Pimblett explains why he’s being called by rising lightweight prospects

Outside of the title contenders in the lightweight division, Paddy Pimblett is the name on everyone’s lips. The English fighter had a hugely entertaining start to life in the UFC. His growing popularity makes him a favorite call for other upstart lightweights who aren’t yet part of the bigger picture.

Speaking ahead of UFC San Diego, Pimblett was asked about his thoughts on being called up by Terrance McKinney and other lightweights. He has answered:

“Everybody wants to fight me, boy. They all have less than a hundred thousand subscribers. I’m 1.8 million or something, you know what I mean? That’s why they want to fight me.”

“The Baddy” also offered his looks as reason enough for other fighters not to fear him:

“I’m not a very scary guy either. I don’t look that intimidating, boy. So people think, ‘I can beat him,’ then when you walk into the cage with me and you have to solve the puzzle, you can’t.”

With his native Liverpudlian Ketwig haircut, boyish smile and light-hearted attitude, Pimblett attracts many fighters looking to elevate their status. The real fighter in him is only apparent inside the cage where his record speaks for itself.

Paddy Pimblett received a deluge of calls

On Paddy Pimblett’s latest fight card at UFC Fight Night London, Georgian fighter Ilia Topuria was also in action. Formerly a featherweight like Pimblett, Topuria made his lightweight debut in style by knocking out Jai Herbert.

However, he had in mind only one fighter competing that night:

“He’s ab****. Paddy Pimblett, win or lose, I wanna fight you next and kick your ass like I did last time. Fuck you. I want that blonde bitch. That Paddy b ****.

‘El Matador’ and ‘The Baddy’ went there ahead of UFC Fight Night London, brawling at the hotel they were all staying in. Topuria revealed that this was due to Pimblett’s insensitive remarks about his home country of Georgia.

Terrance McKinney is the latest fighter to call out Pimblett, taking to Twitter to make his statement. Following UFC confirmation that Molly McCann will fight Erin Blanchfield at UFC 281 in Madison Square Garden, ‘T.Wrecks’ sought a fight with her close friend on the same card.

He posted a Photoshopped image of himself and Paddy Pimblett in a confrontation with the caption:

“If Meatball is coming to New York, does that mean Patrick is coming too? »
