Packers QB Jordan Love (knee) not expected to play vs. Titans; Malik Willis to start vs. former team

Love’s inactivity sets the stage for an intriguing matchup for Willis, though he downplayed any revenge factor when he faced Tennessee earlier in the week.

Willis led the Packers to a Week 2 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in a feat made all the more impressive by the fact that he was traded from the Titans to Green Bay on Aug. 26, just weeks before taking over the starting job.

Willis, a third-round pick in 2022, was considered a promising QB for the Titans, but he struggled in his two seasons with Tennessee. For Green Bay, however, Willis had what was probably his best performance of his career, completing 12 of 14 passes for 122 yards, his first NFL touchdown pass and no interceptions.

Love will have to wait another week, as Willis will return to Nashville as the Packers’ starter for at least one more game.

Green Bay (1-1) opens its game against Tennessee (0-2) at 1 p.m. ET Sunday.
