Ouachita Baptist lineman Clark Yarbrough dead at 21


Clark Yarbrough, an Ouachita Baptist University defensive lineman, died Sunday at age 21 after suddenly collapsing, the school said in a social media post.

“Today the community of Ouachita mourns the loss of Senior Clark Yarbrough, who passed away this morning following a sudden collapse,” said the the university wrote on Twitter. “Join us in praying for his family and friends. More information about the campus rallies following this tragedy will be released soon.

More information regarding the cause of death was not readily available.

Yarbrough played in the school’s Thursday win at Oklahoma Baptist, scoring two tackles in the 42-32 victory. He received an honorable mention from the All-Great American Conference last year. He specialized in business administration (sports management) at OBU.

Yarbrough, 6-foot-1, 280 pounds, finished last year with 27 tackles. He played high school football in Sachse, Texas and was originally from Rowlett, Texas.
