ONSSA reinforces control, 13 reports of offenses drawn up

As part of the control operations for animal feed, veterinary drugs, drinking water and poultry droppings at farm level, ONSSA carried out 1,900 control trips and drew up 13 inspection reports. offenses that have been sent to justice.

As Eid Al Adha 2022 approaches, the National Food Safety Office (ONSSA) is strengthening health control and surveillance operations for animal feed, veterinary drugs, drinking water and poultry droppings at farm level.

Thus, the services of the Office carried out more than 1,900 checks when 847 samples of meat and 372 samples of animal feed and 40 samples of drinking water were taken and analyzed.

It should be noted that from June 1 until July 15, 2022, the Office has prohibited the circulation of droppings, in order to prevent any fraudulent use, in particular for the fattening of sheep and goats intended for Aïd. Al-Adha.

Control operations, carried out within the framework of joint commissions, resulted in the seizure and destruction of more than 10 tons of poultry droppings, one ton of animal feed and more than 300 liters of unauthorized veterinary drugs.

13 offense reports were drawn up and sent to the courts. 3 cases of violations concern the use of poultry droppings for animal fattening, particularly in the provinces of Youssoufia, Khénifra and Tiznit, 3 cases of violations concern non-compliant animal feed in the Beni region Mellal-Khenifra. 7 cases concern the sale of veterinary drugs without authorization in the regions of Beni Mellal-Khénifra, l’Oriental, Casablanca-Settat and Marrakech-Safi.
