OnePlus 12 launch date set for December 4
The OnePlus 12 is just around the corner, with the flagship expected to launch on December 4 as part of the brand’s 10th anniversary celebration.
OnePlus was founded by Pete Lau and Carl Pei (who now runs Nothing) in December 2013, which will soon be 10 years old. Of course, it’s not the anniversary of the brand’s first product, the OnePlus One, since it was released in April of the following year.
To celebrate this anniversary, OnePlus will host the OnePlus 12 announcement on December 4, 2023.
OnePlus announced the date on Weibo, where it also said (translated) that the device would be the “flagship of the decade.” A December launch is rumored to have extended the timeline by a month from the OnePlus 11 reveal.
A photo included with the announcement shows Pete Lau standing, not so ironically, in front of the 12 on a clock, with 10 behind him. It’s a fun little teaser.
However, this is only a launch for China. OnePluis has been holding global launches of its flagship phones for two years, and it’s unclear when it might happen this time around. Last year, the OnePlus 11 was launched in China in January, arriving in the global market in February. So if OnePlus launches the 12 in China in December, it seems reasonable to expect a global launch in January.
The OnePlus 12 is expected to bring a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a new camera, and the return of wireless charging, among other upgrades.
