The National Office for Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) described World Water Day on Tuesday through a rich information and awareness program under the central theme of the year, entitled “Groundwater: Making the Invisible Visible”.
In this context, the Office has organized several socio-cultural activities at central and regional levels in the form of presentations to raise awareness on the development of groundwater, educational visits to ONEE facilities, screenings of awareness capsules on level of cinemas, artistic competitions and exhibitions, indicates the Office in a press release.
These actions carried out by the Office, in favor of schools, associations and the general public, highlight the importance of the sustainable use of water resources, in particular groundwater which constitutes invisible resources but whose ‘the impact is visible everywhere.
On this occasion, the Office also organized, in partnership with the Al Manar Association of Education Professionals, an awareness day comprising information workshops, drawing competitions and cultural competitions in order to raise young people’s awareness of the importance of the rational use of water and ecologically responsible behavior.
World Water Day is also an opportunity for ONEE to renew its commitment to continue its efforts as a major player in the areas of drinking water, liquid sanitation, quality control water and environmental protection.
