One dead in Etowah County home fire

ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Authorities responded to a house fire in Etowah County on Saturday morning.

The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office said the first 911 call came in just after 9:30 a.m. for a structure fire on Millers Hollow Road. According to the ECSO, the caller said one person was still inside at the time. The deputies and the volunteer firefighters of Ivalée responded.

Once there, the two departments began to fight the fire and attempt to save the person. The victim’s name is withheld until the next of kin is notified.

The Sheriff’s Office, Etowah County Arson Task Force and the Alabama Office of the Fire Marshal are investigating.
