Old Firm: Man appears in court over bottle incident in Rangers-Celtic clash | Soccer News

A man accused of throwing a bottle at a Celtic backroom staff member during the clash with Old Firm has appeared in court.

Alan Crawford appeared privately at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday where he was charged with assaulting a member of Celtic staff during Rangers’ 2-1 loss to rivals Glasgow on April 3.

The charge against the 32-year-old alleges he assaulted Daniel Friel at Ibrox by throwing a bottle at her ‘causing her to hit her head until she was seriously injured and permanently disfigured’.

Crawford did not submit a plea when he appeared before Sheriff Iain Fleming.

He was released on bail and will appear in court again on a date yet to be confirmed.
