POST, Okla. – A castrator was convicted of illegally operating a volunteer in a cabin in the woods last October, then keeping the removed body parts in a freezer.
A jury trial for Bob Lee Allen, 54, was scheduled to begin on Monday. Instead, he pleaded without challenge in August to three felony counts and was sentenced to more than a dozen years behind bars.
The criminal case became a national sensation last year because the victim said Allen was pretending to be a cannibal.
The plea in Le Flore County District Court came after an agreement was reached with prosecutors. He told the judge he believed the plea was in his best interest because “a jury could convict me.”
The plea also came after Allen’s husband Thomas Evans Gates III agreed to testify against him at trial.

The two tied the knot in September 2020 in Texas.
The victim, then 28, flew from Virginia to Dallas last October. He had met Allen on a website that had a welcome note in his recording box “from theEunuchMaker and the EM Crew”.
He was then driven to the couple’s cabin near Wister in southeast Oklahoma.
The victim told investigators Allen performed castration on Oct. 12 on a makeshift covered table inside the cabin, according to a court affidavit. He said Gates helped by handing over surgical supplies.
The victim said she was awake for the operation two hours after being injected “in the necessary areas”. The victim remembers Allen laughing after the operation and saying he was going to consume the parts, according to the affidavit.
The victim also told investigators that Allen claimed to have 15 years of experience and said he “had six other clients who were about to have the same operation.”
Allen and her husband were arrested because the operation was botched. Allen took the victim to hospital the next day due to bleeding.
They were arrested on October 15 after going to the hospital to try to visit the victim.
Allen has indisputably pleaded three counts of felony – conspiracy to perform unlicensed surgery, unlicensed medical practice, and attempted distribution of a psychedelic mushroom.
He also argued arguably one misdemeanor drug count and another drug count for failing to remove the removed testicles.

Investigators reported finding the body parts in a plastic bag in a freezer in the cabin bedroom. Allen was sentenced to two years in prison and 10 years and one month in prison. He was credited for the time spent.
He owes more than $ 5,000 in fines and other costs. Prosecutors dropped one count of felony mutilation and two counts of misdemeanor in exchange for his plea. He risked life imprisonment if convicted of mutilation.
Gates, now 43, pleaded guilty on August 4 to three misdemeanors after prosecutors agreed to dismiss three counts in exchange for his testimony.
Gates was released on Tuesday after being sentenced to jail. He owes more than $ 2,000 in fines and costs.
Allen complained in letters to the judge that Gates had not been released sooner and had after all requested a trial.
