DETROIT (AP) — Nikola Jokic and Nuggets coach Mike Malone were ejected during the first half of Denver’s 107-103 victory at Detroit on Monday night.
Jokic received his first technical for challenging a call in the first quarter. Malone was ejected for going onto the field to challenge a call late in the period. Jokic was ejected after arguing another call with 1:22 left in the first half.
“I think Nikola was worried about my well-being,” Malone joked. “It’s hard to watch a game on TV – we were hugging on the good plays and I was swearing in Serbian on the bad ones.”
Nikola Jokic was ejected just before halftime of Monday’s game in Detroit.
Jokic had nine points, five rebounds and five assists in 15:13 minutes before being ejected.
The Nuggets (10-4), deprived of injured Jamal Murray, ended a two-game slide. The Pistons (2-12) come out of the match with their 12th consecutive defeat.
