Nothing starts taking registrations for the phone (1) Android 13 beta update

There was no indication before that it wouldn’t bring Android 13 to its phone (1) this year, but now it looks like it’s changing its tone slightly. We’re not talking about a full, stable version that will roll out to everyone, but there will be a beta before the end of 2022.

A closed beta is actually already in testing, but the open version will arrive around mid-December. If you have the Nothing Phone (1) and want to test this beta as soon as it arrives, you can register your interest on this website.

As the text explains, the feedback you give on the beta will be used to improve Nothing OS until the official launch of the Android 13 update. other miscellaneous issues as with any unfinished software, so definitely back up your phone before installing the beta. And maybe you don’t even try if it’s your one and only device?

It’s unclear what this beta rollout means for when we should expect the final release to drop. But unless the beta no longer feels like a release candidate, it definitely won’t be this year. Hopefully it arrives earlier in 2023, rather than later.
