North Attleborough priest placed on administrative leave amid investigation


Reverend Rodney E. Thibault, pastor of Lord Parish Transfiguration and principal of St. Mary’s – Sacred Heart School, is being investigated for alleged misconduct.

A North Attleborough priest was placed on administrative leave last week as part of an investigation into allegations of misconduct, according to a statement from the Diocese of Fall River.

The Reverend Rodney E. Thibault, Lord Parish Transfiguration Pastor and Principal of St. Mary–Sacred Heart School, has been furloughed by the Bishop of the Diocese of Fall River.

Thibault is being investigated for “alleged misconduct inconsistent with ministerial standards of behavior and in direct violation of the code of conduct for priests of the Diocese of Fall River,” the statement dated Aug. 7 said.

The alleged misconduct does not involve a minor, according to the statement. No other details of the investigation were released.
