No foul play suspected in Brandon Smiley’s death
Following the tragic passing of Rickey Smiley’s son, Brandon Smiley, more details are coming to light.

As previously reported, Smiley shared on Sunday that her eldest son Brandon passed away and asked for prayers for his family.
“I just had some bad news this morning,” an emotional Smiley said in an Instagram video. “I’m on my way to the airport to go to Birmingham. I want everyone to pray for me, pray for our family. Our son Brandon Smiley passed away this morning. Lord, have mercy, Jesus.

The comedian/host went on to share that Brandon, 32, had to attend church with his grandmother before the family received the news. He did not share a cause of death.
Now AL.com reports that no foul play is suspected in Brandon’s death.
Quoting the Jefferson County coroner’s officer, the outlet reports that Brandon was found unconscious inside his residence by a friend at 10:07 a.m. He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead. . at 10:52 a.m.
Deputy Chief Coroner Bill Yates said an autopsy performed early Monday found no evidence of trauma or foul play and the cause of death was pending further laboratory investigation, adds AL.com.

On his official Twitter, Rickey Smiley thanked those around him for their prayers but also asked for a break as he continues to process the loss.
“All friends and relatives. Can you give me a minute. Please stop texting,” Smiley wrote. “Feeling overwhelmed. I know your heart. Please do not retext. I will hit everyone back. It’s hard 🙏🏽🙏🏽
