Nicolas Sarkozy, former French president, guilty of illegal campaign financing
Earlier this year, Sarkozy was sentenced to three years in prison, two of which were suspended, for corruption and influence peddling, making him the first French head of state to be sentenced to prison since 1945.

The judge said Sarkozy did not need to serve a prison sentence. He could serve his sentence by wearing an electronic bracelet at home.

It’s a developing story … more to come.
