Nicki Minaj’s husband under house arrest for threatening videos sent to rapper Offset
Kenneth Petty, husband of Nicki Minaj, was placed under house arrest after violating the terms of his probation by posting clips appearing to threaten rapper Offset, married to Cardi B.
Cardi B, 30, and Nicki Minaj, 40, are known to be in a long-running feud, having traded several jabs at each other on social media over the years.
In September 2018, the two award-winning musicians were involved in a physical altercation at a New York Fashion Week party.
Musicians’ husbands are now making headlines.
In a court order filed Wednesday, September 20, in the Central District of California, Petty, 45, was ordered to serve 120 days of home detention.
The house arrest follows the fact that he “was recorded on video making threatening remarks towards a specific person while in the company of a person with a criminal record” .
The “specific individual” mentioned in the order is rapper Offset, 31, and the “video” in question concerns a series of messages from Petty to the rapper that appeared on social media on Saturday (September 16).
In the video clip that went viral on social media, Petty and some of his friends are seen outside a New York hotel where Offset was reportedly staying at the time.
In it, Petty can be heard making threatening comments, including: “Plan this vacation, you’re going to plan your funeral, dammit!” ยป
The videos violate the terms of his probation.
Petty was sentenced to three years of probation in July 2022 after pleading guilty to failing to register as a sex offender in California in 2020.

Petty was convicted of attempted first-degree rape of a 16-year-old girl in 1995. He spent four years in prison in New York.
Offset didn’t seem bothered by the threatening remarks, brushing them off in a video in which he said, “I’m getting off a plane. He’s funny.”
Offset, formerly of the Atlanta rap group Migos, is the husband of Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B. The couple married in 2017 and share two children: a daughter, Kulture, and a son, Wave Set Cephus.

Petty married Grammy-winning rapper Nicki Minaj in 2019. The couple were childhood sweethearts and welcomed a son in September 2020.
Tensions between Minaj and Cardi B came to a head at a New York Fashion Week party in 2018.
Video from the event showed Cardi B throwing herself at someone and being restrained. Another video showed her being escorted out of the event by security.
Cardi B posted a message on her Instagram the next day that seemed aimed at Minaj, commenting: “When you mention my child you choose to like comments about me as a mother, to make comments about my daughter’s abilities , thatโs when all bets are off!! I have worked (sic) hard and come too far to let someone ruin my success!!!!!โ
Minaj also spoke out and said she was “mortified” by the incident and dismissed Cardi B’s allegations.
She denied insulting Cardi B as a mother, saying: “I would never talk about anyone’s child or parenting.” I don’t care about anyone’s parenting.
