The NFL trade deadline is fast approaching and several potential suitors are underperforming and need a boost.

Many of these teams mainly need an upgrade on the attacking side of football, and there are some intriguing prospects that would be available.

One of them is Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool.

The Steelers are struggling with a 2-5 record after losing to the Miami Dolphins 16-10 on Sunday night, and some changes may be in order for Mike Tomlin’s team as they continue to forge ahead in the post-Ben Roethlisberger era.

A potential move on the horizon

Claypool has shown some potential in his three pro seasons, having racked up more than 850 yards in each of his previous two campaigns.

So far this year, he’s had 266 yards in seven games, but he’s just one touchdown and averaging 9.5 yards per reception.

If the Steelers think they’ll get the kind of compensation the Carolina Panthers got for former All-Pro First Team running back Christian McCaffrey, they may be wrong, because Claypool just isn’t the same. level.

Another legendary franchise currently struggling – the Green Bay Packers – is rumored to be an interested team in Claypool.

The Packers are just 3-4, mostly on a spraying offense, and they could use another wide option that can make game-changing plays.

Claypool might not be quite that type of player, but he might be the type of young prospect that would be worth investing in at the right price.

He could potentially blossom playing for an elite quarterback such as Aaron Rodgers, just as Davante Adams began to blossom playing with him after a lackluster first two seasons.
