NFL legend JJ Watt loves house shown by Burnley pastry chef for Blackburn fan’s birthday

NFL legend JJ Watt has given his seal of approval after a Burnley pastry chef trolled a Blackburn fan’s 40th birthday.

Watt, a former Houston Texans tight end, became a minority investor in Burnley in May and it appears he is already fully armed for the club’s local rivalry with Rovers.

The 34-year-old took to X, formerly known as Twitter, after coming across an image of a different birthday cake.

That’s because a Burnley fan was given the task of baking a Blackburn-themed birthday cake for a customer.

The pastry chef carried out the task as shown with the Blackburn club crest placed on top alongside the words ‘Happy 40th Birthday Ashley’.

But when the recipient cut the cake, a surprise awaited them under the sponge cake.

The cake-baking Burnley fan took it upon himself to add a layer of burgundy and blue icing which no doubt shocked those about to dine on it.

The incident has since gone viral, even ending up on Watt’s social media feed – much to his delight.

Watt immediately responded to the post with: “Legend.”

The trolling represents another strike against Rovers by their rivals after Burnley confirmed last season’s league title with a 1-0 win at Ewood Park in April.

To make matters worse, the defeat all but ended Blackburn’s hopes of joining their fierce rivals in the Premier League.

For Watt and Burnley, the return to life in the top flight has been difficult after losing all three of their league matches so far.

Heavy defeats to Manchester City and Tottenham came either side of a 3-1 reverse to Aston Villa.

However, Vincent Kompany’s side can return to winning ways on Monday night when Burnley travel to Nottingham Forest.

Burnley will be confident of picking up their first points of the season, having already faced Forest at the City Ground in the Carabao Cup last month.
