ESPN analyst Mel Kiper has sparked numerous NFL draft sessions throughout his career, but nothing he has spoken at the league’s annual event can match his thoughts on pizza.
On the last episode of the “ESPN Daily” podcast, Kiper spoke to Pablo Torre about several topics, including his weird eating habits. Kiper told Torre he eats pumpkin pie “as many times as I can” and will even start his morning with a pumpkin pie for breakfast. He doesn’t eat pumpkin pie every day, but that’s only because it’s not always available to him.
NFL MOCK DRAFT: What Kiper, Other Experts Say About Round One
Oh, but it’s getting weirder. Torre then asked Kiper to reveal his process of eating pizza, and it does. . . Something.
“I take the cheese off the pizza and eat the pizza with mashed potatoes. So mashed potatoes and pizza without cheese is what I do,” Kiper said. “I think I’m healthy because I don’t eat the cheese, right? I don’t eat the cheese. I just leave a little on that for the flavor. The cheese gives you the flavor, I leave a little. bitten.
“It’s mostly just the sauce and the batter, then I put the mashed potatoes in there, and that’s what I do.”
Uh, what the fuck is this?
And, in case you thought Kiper was joking, he then encouraged Torre to try his technique.
Remember: take the pizza with cheese, THEN remove it – and add the mashed potatoes. Give it a shot.

If you’ve ever wondered what fuels an NFL Draft Expert, apparently it’s copious amounts of pumpkin pie and mashed potato pizza, which will now be called “the Kiper Abomination.” .
