Here is a new wave of optimism – in football terms at least – sweeping through Newcastle United after a takeover that catapulted the club into the elite stratosphere when it comes to financial might.
Not that Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo is concerned by all of this. He travels north to face a Newcastle side winless in seven games and stationed just one place off the Premier League table.
Only a win will be satisfactory for a Tottenham side who have struggled for consistency this season.
A victory on the opening weekend against Manchester City did not prove to be a harbinger of more success, as the 3-0 losses to Crystal Palace and Chelsea, as well as a 3-1 setback to their rivals Arsenal brought them down.
Steve Bruce is expected to remain in charge of Newcastle despite a week of speculation about his future.

Newcastle vs Tottenham team news
Tottenham’s preparations were disrupted after two of their players tested positive for Covid. The two players, who have not been named, must now self-isolate for ten days and will also miss matches against Vitesse Arnhem and West Ham next week.
Heung-min Son is not expected to appear at St James’ Park. Nuno Espirito Santo is also due to comment on the fitness of four players who returned from international duty in South America on Friday – Giovani Lo Celso, Cristian Romero, Davinson Sanchez and Emerson Royal.
Steven Bergwijn could return to the squad. The forward, who has started well this season, has not played since September 16 due to an ankle problem.
Newcastle United are boosted by the return of Callum Wilson, who has missed the last four games with a thigh problem. Jamaal Lascelles, Joe Willock and Jonjo Shelvey are also available following an injury.
Newcastle vs Tottenham Prediction:
Despite the feel-good factor sweeping through Tyneside, it’s hard to imagine an immediate turn in fortune.
They are still the same team led by the same coaching staff who have struggled so far and are unlikely to be able to turn the tide against a stronger opponent.
As for Spurs, a game against Newcastle could turn out to be a banana peel, especially if Georgia’s loyalists can elevate their team to greater heights. That’s a big if, because even better performance from black and white men might not be enough.
