A month and a half after its coronation at the 2022 World Cup, Argentina launched its candidacy for the organization of the 2030 edition with great optimism along with Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile.
Smiles were de rigueur Tuesday at the headquarters of the Argentine federation, in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. The AFA has officially launched its joint bid with Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile for the organization of the 2030 World Cup. For an opening match in Buenos Aires and a final in Montevideo.
The representatives of the 4 South American federations as well as the president of Conmebol (Alejandro Dominguez) were optimistic about the idea of winning and the coronation of Abiceleste in Qatar, on December 18, reminded the world the mad love of the Argentines for the round ball. The Argentine people are ready to celebrate another victory on a global scale.
For Uruguay, it will be a question of celebrating the centenary of the very first FIFA World Cup, in 1930, which La Celeste won at home, against Argentina. And when Argentina organized its Mundial, in 78, it won on its land, thanks to Mario Kempes.
