The only time former Vice President Mike Pence has really “lost it” with Donald Trump is after the former president threw a crumpled newspaper article at him, according to a new book.
Trump started the newspaper in Pence in 2018 because he believed the story detailing the hiring of his ex-adviser Corey Lewandowski on Pence’s policy committee made him look weak, Wall Street Journal’s Michael Bender said in “” Frankly, we won this election “: The Inside Story of How Trump Loses.
The Journal published an adapted essay of the book on Thursday.
Pence “lost it,” Bender wrote.
The then vice president reminded Trump that Jared Kushner, the then president’s son-in-law and senior White House adviser, had asked him to hire Lewandowski and that they talked about it over lunch, according to the book.
Pence reportedly “took the article back and sent it back to Mr. Trump,” Bender wrote, citing administration officials. “He leaned over to the president and pointed a finger a few inches from his chest. “We’ve explained every detail of it to you,” Pence scolded. – We did it for you, as a favor. And is that how you answer? You need to clarify your facts.
Bender also in his book, due for release next week, said Trump praised Adolf Hitler on a trip to France in 2018 and said he wanted the soldiers to “get high. “and shoot at civil rights protesters who took to the streets after the police were murdered. by George Floyd.
