Donald Trump complained that he was “fucked up” by parliamentary minority leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) Because McCarthy initially blamed the former president for inciting the deadly riot on Capitol Hill, according to a new book.
Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Robert Costa report in their upcoming Trump White House “Peril” how he turned on McCarthy by saying he was responsible for the violence.
“This guy called me every day, pretended to be my best friend, and then he fucked me,” Trump reportedly told Woodward and Costa for their book, which CNN released on Tuesday.
“He’s not a good guy,” added Trump.
McCarthy has since reaffirmed himself as a staunch Trump apologist.
The book, slated for release on September 21, also details Trump’s reported threat to withhold the friendship of then-Vice President Mike Pence for his refusal to disrupt the election certification process and measures. that Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley allegedly took to stop Trump from going “thug” with nuclear weapons.
