Netflix takes us deeper into the dark and thrilling world of The sand mantoday dropping a new teaser for his Neil Gaiman series during a preview presentation with the cast and producers as part of the streamer’s Geeked Week event.
Monday’s teaser comes years after Netflix first announced in 2019 that they were working on The sand man, a DC comic book series by Gaiman that was never adapted for the screen (despite an unsuccessful attempt at a movie starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt that never made it past pre-production). Obviously, Netflix’s version was more successful, and the streamer just shared a full over-minute teaser to prove it.
“I’m the king of dreams,” says a disembodied voice at the start of the clip, which then shows a conversation between Hettie and Johanna Constantine (Jenna Coleman), who asks her, “What are you doing here, Hettie? “
Hettie responds, “He’s coming, isn’t he?” and when Johanna asks, “Who?” Hettie says, “Morpheus,” adding, “You know, The Sandman.
While Johanna insists, “It’s a fairy tale,” Hettie warns, “It’s not a fairy tale. He is back.”
“Good to know,” says Johanna.
Netflix previously shared a first look at the series in September, when it released a brief teaser video. The sand man as part of its global fan event, TUDUM. Today, the streamer not only revealed more Sand seller images, but also shared that the series will air in August.
The sand man stars Allan Heinberg, Tom Sturridge, Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, Vanesu Samunyai.
