Griselda is the latest crime series to take the internet by storm, and fans are so “obsessed” with the Netflix drama that they “can’t sleep” until they finish it.
The miniseries premiered on January 25 and chronicles the life of Griselda Blanco, a notorious Colombian drug lord who operated a cocaine empire in Miami.
Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara plays the lead role and has been praised for her performance.
Viewers were so captivated that they took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their excitement, sharing that they were hooked after just one episode of the six-part show.
One viewer predicted Vergara would get a slew of awards, writing: “Griselda Blanco turning her kids into murderers and drug dealers is WILD.” Sofia Vergara is about to be nominated for everything related to this Netflix miniseries.
Netflix fans have said they “can’t sleep” without watching crime series Griselda in which Sofia Vergara plays Griselda Blanco, a notorious Colombian drug lord.

Other viewers shared: “I started watching Griselda, so my new personality for the week is about to become drug lord, queen of the underworld”; “I was obsessed with Griselda Blanco and Pablo Escobar”; “Griselda might be the best thing on Netflix right now”;
‘Baby, Griselda Netflix shows HIT. The best six hours of TV I’ve watched in a LONG time!’; “Griselda is so good. I was sitting,” and another admitted to consuming the miniseries: “I crushed six hours of Griselda.”
However, one viewer wasn’t as taken with the dramatization, saying the producers played it too safe with Blanco’s portrayal.
They reflected: “Griselda on Netflix is good but I feel like they are too safe to humanize her. Griselda Blanco was RUTHLESS. She started killing at the age of 11.
“The TV show makes her seem sweet.”
As fans expressed their approval for the show, the family of Blanco – who was shot and killed in 2012 – filed a lawsuit for his alleged “unauthorized use of their family’s image,” according to TMZ.
Blanco’s son, Michael Corleone, says he has been doing interviews for years trying to put his and his mother’s story on paper in hopes of turning it into a production.
He previously told DailyMail.com of his anger and disappointment that Vergara and her team had turned down his offer to consult on the project.
Most users on X, formerly known as Twitter, have been captivated by the series, with some even seeming to be hooked on the crime drama.
He called the rejection a “slap in the face”, saying they “wouldn’t have made it” if his mother were still alive.
Blanco, born in Santa Marta, Colombia, grew up poor and a lack of money forced her into a life of crime from a young age.
It was alleged that she got drawn into pickpocketing and prostitution, before leaving. She finds love again with drug trafficker Alberto Bravo who quickly draws her into the cocaine industry.
The couple used New York as a base to smuggle drugs into the United States – and Blanco seemed to have a talent for it – later creating a huge cocaine empire worth billions.
Blanco’s son, Michael Corleone, reportedly filed a lawsuit over “unauthorized use of their family’s likeness” on the show.
